A new layer of stiff rock may unexpectedly exist deep inside Earth, researchers say.

Residents living close by on Sicily were covered in hot ash but Europe's tallest and most active volcano didn't seem to pose any threat to human safety.

The Earth's mantle is the portion of the planet that lies between the crust and the core. Some of its secrets are now coming to light.

Lots of close color and feather pattern studies on birds (mostly eagles, I think). There was an edge brush that really helped speed up the shading process, but luckily there weren't too many feathers to render in detail before resorting to blobby texture mess. I also worked with a different rendering method - more direct color application as opposed to light/shadow layers.
