Spanish Fabric Pattern

Italian Renaissance fabric from the V museum-- "The term "pomegranate pattern" was coined in the nineteenth century and embraces a number of variants. This example resembles more closely a thistle than a pomegranate. Other variations were the lotus flower, pineapple or pine cone. Such grand, symmetrical, vegetable designs were seen most frequently between 1420 and 1550."
