Christina on Instagram: "I love answering questions about this DIY stair runner, because that’s how I learned to install mine. I watched a video where someone was kind enough to explain the process, and got started. The rug is by @annieselke and I used 3 eight foot long runners to complete my stairs. Apparently it bothers some people that I cut corners and painted only the part of the treads that would be visible, but I still don’t regret saving the time! Nobody will ever see the pine in the middle, unless they’re redecorating! I used a pneumatic finish stapler, a 1/4” rug pad on each tread, secured with double sided carpet tape, and the stair rods were an Etsy find. The landing is tiny and no wall space just doorways so the panelling stops at the top of the stairs. I would have 100% carried the panels on if there were enough walls. Carpet on the landing is exactly the same carpet without the black boarder and it’s fitted across and tucked under the top step. ❓Does it get dusty…. I keep on top of it every 2-3 days so it doesn’t bother me.
