Abstract
Description
[1]ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むハロイサイトが集合してなる顆粒を含むハロイサイト粉末と、上記ハロイサイト粉末に担持された遷移金属触媒と、を備える複合体。
[2]上記顆粒が、上記ハロイサイトナノチューブのチューブ孔に由来する第1の細孔と、上記第1の細孔とは異なる第2の細孔とを有する、上記[1]に記載の複合体。
[3]上記遷移金属触媒が、鉄、ルテニウム、コバルト、ニッケルおよび銀からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を含む、上記[1]または[2]に記載の複合体。
[4]上記遷移金属触媒が含む遷移金属元素の含有量が、上記複合体の全量に対して、酸化物換算で、0.5モル%以上である、上記[1]~[3]のいずれかに記載の複合体。

本発明の複合体は、ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むハロイサイトが集合してなる顆粒を含むハロイサイト粉末と、上記ハロイサイト粉末に担持された遷移金属触媒と、を備える複合体である。
本発明の複合体が備えるハロイサイト粉末(以下、便宜的に「本発明のハロイサイト粉末」ともいう)は、いわゆる触媒担体として機能する。
本発明のハロイサイト粉末において、上記顆粒は、後述するように、上記ハロイサイトナノチューブのチューブ孔に由来する第1の細孔と、上記第1の細孔とは異なる第2の細孔とを有することが好ましい。第2の細孔は、集合したハロイサイトどうしの間隙に由来すると解される。
このような本発明のハロイサイト粉末の表面(とりわけ、第1の細孔の表面、および/または、第2の細孔の表面)に遷移金属触媒が担持されることにより、例えば、第1の細孔や第2の細孔の内部が反応場として利用され、その結果、触媒活性(特に、アンモニア分解反応に対する触媒活性)に優れると推測される。
更に、本発明のハロイサイト粉末が、単なる触媒担体として機能するだけでなく、特異なナノ空間を有する固体酸触媒としても機能することが触媒活性に有効に作用すると推測される。
遷移金属触媒は、遷移金属元素を含む。
遷移金属元素としては、本発明の複合体を適用する触媒反応にもよるが、アンモニア分解反応の触媒活性が優れるという理由からは、例えば、鉄(Fe)、ルテニウム(Ru)などの第8族元素;コバルト(Co)、ロジウム(Rh)、イリジウム(Ir)などの第9族元素;ニッケル(Ni)などの第10族元素;銅(Cu)、銀(Ag)、金(Au)などの第11族元素;等が好適に挙げられる。
これらのうち、アンモニア分解反応の触媒活性がより優れるという理由から、鉄(Fe)、ルテニウム(Ru)、コバルト(Co)、ニッケル(Ni)および銀(Ag)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素が、より好ましい。
一方、上限は特に限定されないが、例えば、10.0モル%以下が好ましく、8.0モル%以下がより好ましく、5.0モル%以下が更に好ましい。

例えば、遷移金属触媒は、金属(金属単体)の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよいし、酸化物、塩化物などの化合物の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよい。
本発明の複合体は、本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持された助触媒(アルカリ金属触媒およびアルカリ土類金属触媒からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の触媒)を更に備えることが好ましい。これにより、例えばアンモニア分解反応の触媒活性がより優れる。
アルカリ土類金属触媒は、マグネシウム(Mg)、カルシウム(Ca)、ストロンチウム(Sr)、バリウム(Ba)などのアルカリ土類金属元素を含む。
すなわち、助触媒は、アルカリ金属元素およびアルカリ土類金属元素からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素(便宜的に「助触媒元素」ともいう)を含む。
助触媒は、アンモニア分解反応の触媒活性が更に優れるという理由から、助触媒元素として、ナトリウム(Na)、マグネシウム(Mg)およびカリウム(K)からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を含むことが好ましい。
一方、上限は特に限定されないが、例えば、2.0モル%以下が好ましく、1.5モル%以下がより好ましく、1.0モル%以下が更に好ましい。
例えば、助触媒は、金属(金属単体)の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよいし、酸化物、塩化物などの化合物の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよい。
次に、本発明のハロイサイト粉末を説明する。
本発明のハロイサイト粉末は、ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むハロイサイトが集合してなる顆粒を含む粉末である。
本明細書においては、複数個の「顆粒」の集合体を「粉末」と呼ぶ。
本発明のハロイサイト粉末において、上記顆粒は、上記ハロイサイトナノチューブのチューブ孔に由来する第1の細孔と、上記第1の細孔とは異なる第2の細孔とを有することが好ましい。
ハロイサイトは、チューブ状(中空管状)、球状、角ばった団塊状、板状、シート状など多様な形状を示す。
チューブ状(中空管状)のハロイサイトであるハロイサイトナノチューブの内径(チューブ孔の径)は、例えば、10~20nm程度である。ハロイサイトナノチューブは、外表面は主にケイ酸塩SiO2からなり、内表面は主にアルミナAl2O3からなる。
「メタハロイサイト」は、Al2Si2O5(OH)4で表されるハロイサイトのOHが脱水し、低結晶質の状態になったものであり、ハロイサイトの変種を表す用語として、従来、一般的または慣用的に用いられている。
本明細書において、「メタハロイサイト」は、「ハロイサイトを特定の焼成温度で焼成して得られるもの」とする。「特定の焼成温度」は、例えば500℃以上であり、600℃以上が好ましい。
「特定の焼成温度」の上限は特に限定されず、例えば1000℃以下が好ましい。この温度範囲内であれば、ハロイサイトナノチューブの形状(チューブ状)に変化は無い。
本発明のハロイサイト粉末の製造方法は、例えば、ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むハロイサイトのスラリーを準備する工程(スラリー準備工程)と、上記スラリーから粉末を調製する工程(粉末調製工程)と、を備える方法である。この方法は、更に、粉末調製工程において得られた粉末を焼成する工程(焼成工程)を備えていてもよい。
粉末調製工程としては、例えば、スラリー準備工程において調製されたスラリーをスプレードライすることにより粉末を得る工程が挙げられる。上記スラリーから粉末を調製する手段としては、スプレードライに限定されず、例えば、媒体流動乾燥(ボール入り流動層乾燥)であってもよい。
このような本発明のハロイサイト粉末の製造方法としては、例えば、国際公開第2018/079556号の段落[0011]~[0030]に記載された方法が好適に挙げられる。
次に、本発明の複合体を製造する方法(以下、「本発明の複合体の製造方法」ともいう)を説明する。
本発明の複合体の製造方法は、まず、任意で、助触媒を本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持させる工程(工程A)を備える。
すなわち、本発明の複合体が助触媒を備える場合は、工程Aを行なう。
助触媒元素の塩としては、例えば、助触媒元素の塩化物、炭酸塩、硝酸塩、硫酸塩などが挙げられ、なかでも、硝酸塩が好ましい。これらの塩は、水和物であってもよい。
仮に、この物質量比を1/3(2/6)にする場合を考える。この場合、例えば助触媒元素がナトリウム(Na)であれば、2モルのAl(ハロイサイト中のAl)に対して、助触媒元素Naを6モル(ナトリウムはNa+なので6モル)にする。
振とう温度は、20℃以上が好ましく、30℃以上がより好ましい。一方、60℃以下が好ましく、50℃以下がより好ましい。
振とう時間は、12時間以上が好ましく、18時間以上がより好ましい。一方、36時間以下が好ましく、30時間以下がより好ましい。
振とう速度は、50rpm以上が好ましく、100rpm以上がより好ましい。一方、400rpm以下が好ましく、300rpm以下がより好ましい。
乾燥の条件は、固形分Aの水分が十分に除去される条件であれば特に限定されないが、例えば、乾燥温度は、30℃以上が好ましく、40℃以上がより好ましい。一方、70℃以下が好ましく、60℃以下がより好ましい。
乾燥時間は、6時間以上が好ましく、10時間以上がより好ましい。一方、24時間以下が好ましく、20時間以下がより好ましい。
上述したように、試料Aにおいて、助触媒は、金属(金属単体)の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよいし、酸化物、塩化物などの化合物の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよい。
本発明の複合体の製造方法は、遷移金属触媒を担体Sに担持させる工程(工程B)を備える。ここで、担体Sは、本発明のハロイサイト粉末、および/または、工程Aにおいて得られた試料Aである。
遷移金属元素の塩としては、例えば、遷移金属元素の塩化物、炭酸塩、硝酸塩、硫酸塩などが挙げられ、なかでも、塩化物が好ましい。これらの塩は、水和物であってもよい。
仮に、この物質量比を1/3(2/6)にする場合を考える。この場合、例えば遷移金属元素がニッケル(Ni)であれば、2モルのAl(ハロイサイト中のAl)に対して、遷移金属元素Niを3モル(ニッケルの場合はNi2+なので3モル)にする。
分散液Bの振とう条件(振とう温度、振とう時間、振とう速度など)の好適範囲は、上述した分散液Aの振とう条件の好適範囲と同様である。
固形分Bの乾燥条件(乾燥温度、乾燥時間など)の好適範囲は、上述した固形分Aの乾燥条件の好適範囲と同様である。
上述したように、試料Bにおいて、遷移金属触媒は、金属(金属単体)の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよいし、酸化物、塩化物などの化合物の態様で本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されていてもよい。
そして、工程Bにおいて担体Sとして試料Aを用いた場合、得られる試料Bにおいては、助触媒も、本発明のハロイサイト粉末に担持されている。
各例に用いるハロイサイト粉末1(上述した「ハロイサイト粉末」に相当する)を製造した。具体的には、国際公開第2018/079556号の[実施例](段落[0059]~[0087])に記載された実施例7に準拠して、ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むスラリーをスプレードライすることにより、粉末を得た。
ただし、スプレードライ後の粉末に、450℃の焼成温度で焼成を施した。具体的には、スプレードライ後の粉末を、シリコニット発熱体の電気炉を用いて、室温から5℃/分の昇温速度で昇温し、450℃で1時間保持し、その後、炉冷した。昇温および焼成温度での保持中、界面活性剤の焼失を促進するため、炉内には一定量の空気を供給しつつ、排気を行なった。
以下、ハロイサイト粉末1を、便宜的に、「Hs1」と表記する場合がある。
以下の手順に従って、実施例1~実施例10および比較例1~比較例2の複合体を調製した。
助触媒元素の塩として、硝酸ナトリウム(NaNO3、特級、関東化学社製)を、蒸留水に溶解させて、水溶液Aを得た。
得られた水溶液Aに、ハロイサイト粉末1を添加し、分散液Aを得た。このとき、1gのハロイサイト粉末1に対する水溶液Aの量を、500mLとした。分散液Aにおいて、ハロイサイト中のAlの物質量と助触媒元素(ここではナトリウム)の電荷との物質量比(ハロイサイト中のAlの物質量/助触媒元素の電荷)を、1/3とした。
得られた分散液Aを、振とう機(BR-23FH、タイテック社製)を用いて、40℃で24時間、200rpmの条件で振とうし、その後、ろ過し、固形分Aを得た。得られた固形分Aを、50℃で12時間乾燥し、試料Aを得た。
得られた水溶液Bに、試料Aを添加し、分散液Bを得た。このとき、1gの試料Aに対する水溶液Bの量を、500mLとした。分散液Bにおいて、ハロイサイト中のAlの物質量と遷移金属元素(ここではニッケル)の電荷との物質量比(ハロイサイト中のAlの物質量/遷移金属元素の電荷)を1/3とした。
得られた分散液Bを、振とう機(BR-23FH、タイテック社製)を用いて、40℃で24時間、200rpmの条件で振とうし、その後、ろ過し、固形分Bを得た。得られた固形分Bを、50℃で12時間乾燥し、試料Bを得た。
得られた試料Bを、実施例1の複合体とした。
助触媒元素の塩として、硝酸ナトリウムに代えて、硝酸マグネシウム六水和物(Mg(NO3)2・6H2O、特級、関東化学社製)を用いた。上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例2の複合体を得た。
助触媒元素の塩として、硝酸ナトリウムに代えて、硝酸カリウム(KNO3、試薬特級、関東化学社製)を用いた。上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例3の複合体を得た。
遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ニッケル(II)六水和物に代えて、塩化ルテニウム(III)三水和物(RuCl3・3H2O、関東化学社製)を用いた。上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例4の複合体を得た。
助触媒元素の塩として、硝酸ナトリウムに代えて、硝酸マグネシウム六水和物(Mg(NO3)2・6H2O、特級、関東化学社製)を用いた。
また、遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ニッケル(II)六水和物に代えて、塩化ルテニウム(III)三水和物(RuCl3・3H2O、関東化学社製)を用いた。
上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例5の複合体を得た。
助触媒元素の塩として、硝酸ナトリウムに代えて、硝酸カリウム(KNO3、試薬特級、関東化学社製)を用いた。
また、遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ニッケル(II)六水和物に代えて、塩化ルテニウム(III)三水和物(RuCl3・3H2O、関東化学社製)を用いた。
上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例6の複合体を得た。
遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ニッケル(II)六水和物に代えて、塩化鉄(III)六水和物(FeCl3・6H2O、関東化学社製)を用いた。上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例7の複合体を得た。
遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ニッケル(II)六水和物に代えて、塩化コバルト(II)六水和物(CoCl2・6H2O、関東化学社製)を用いた。上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例8の複合体を得た。
遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ニッケル(II)六水和物に代えて、硝酸銀(AgNO3、関東化学社製)を用いた。上記以外は、実施例1と同様にして、実施例9の複合体を得た。
助触媒(Na、MgおよびK)を用いずに遷移金属触媒(Ru)のみを用いた以外は、実施例4~実施例6と同様にして、実施例10の複合体を得た。
具体的には、まず、遷移金属元素の塩として、塩化ルテニウム(III)三水和物(RuCl3・3H2O、関東化学社製)を、蒸留水に溶解させて、水溶液Bを得た。
得られた水溶液Bに、ハロイサイト粉末1を添加し、分散液Bを得た。このとき、1gのハロイサイト粉末1に対する水溶液Bの量を、500mLとした。分散液Bにおいて、ハロイサイト中のAlの物質量と遷移金属元素(ここではルテニウム)の電荷との物質量比(ハロイサイト中のAlの物質量/遷移金属元素の電荷)を1/3とした。
得られた分散液Bを、振とう機(BR-23FH、タイテック社製)を用いて、40℃で24時間、200rpmの条件で振とうし、その後、ろ過し、固形分Bを得た。得られた固形分Bを、50℃で12時間乾燥し、試料Bを得た。
得られた試料Bを、実施例10の複合体とした。
比較例1では、ハロイサイト粉末1を、遷移金属触媒および/または助触媒を担持させないで、そのまま用いた。これを便宜的に「比較例1の複合体」と呼ぶ場合がある(実際には複合体ではない)。
ハロイサイト粉末1に変えて、アルミナ(AKP-G07、住友化学社製、BET比表面積:73.4m2/g)(便宜的に「担体X1」または単に「X1」と称する場合がある)を用いた以外は、実施例4と同様にして、比較例2の複合体を得た。
実施例1~実施例10の複合体について、複合体の全量に対する、遷移金属元素(例えば実施例1ではニッケル)および助触媒元素(例えば実施例1ではナトリウム)の酸化物換算の含有量(単位:モル%)を、上述した条件にて、XRFにより求めた。結果を下記表1に示す。
《XRD》
各例の複合体について、X線回折(XRD)測定した。代表的に、比較例1および実施例4の複合体のXRDパターンを、それぞれ、図1および図2に示す。
図1は、比較例1の複合体(ハロイサイト粉末1)のXRDパターンである。
図2は、実施例4の複合体のXRDパターンである。
図1および図2に示すように、遷移金属触媒および助触媒の担持の有無に関わらず、XRDパターンに大きな変化は見られなかった。どちらにも、Al2Si2O5(OH)4で表されるハロイサイトのXRDパターンが確認された。これは、他の例も同様であった。
各例の複合体の走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)写真を撮影した。代表的に、比較例1および実施例4の複合体のSEM写真を、それぞれ、図3および図4に示す。
図3は、比較例1の複合体(ハロイサイト粉末1)の顆粒を示すSEM写真である。
図4は、実施例4の複合体の顆粒を示すSEM写真である。
図3および図4のSEM写真においては、ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むハロイサイトが集合してなる顆粒の表面に、ハロイサイトナノチューブのチューブ孔に由来する孔(第1の細孔)の存在が確認できた。更に、その顆粒の断面(図示せず)には、チューブ孔よりも大径の孔(第2の細孔)の存在が確認できた。これは、他の例も同様であった。
各例の複合体の透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)写真を撮影した。代表的に、実施例4の複合体のTEM写真を図5に示す。
図5は、実施例4の複合体の一部を示すTEM写真である。
図5のTEM写真においては、ハロイサイトナノチューブの内外表面に、粒子状のルテニウムが担持されていることが確認できた。なお、ナトリウムは軽い元素であることから、TEM写真に現れなかったものと推測される。
各例の複合体について、窒素吸脱着等温線を測定した。測定条件は、国際公開第2018/079556号の段落[0048]に記載された条件である。代表的に、実施例4の複合体の細孔分布を図6に示す。
図6は、窒素吸着等温線からBJH法により求めた実施例4の複合体の微分細孔分布を示すグラフである。横軸は細孔径[nm]を表し、縦軸は微分細孔容積(dVp/dlogDp)[cm3/g]を表す。図6のグラフにおいては、10nm以上の範囲内に2つ以上の細孔径ピークが維持されていることが確認された。
実施例1~実施例10および比較例1~比較例2の複合体の各々を試料として、アンモニア分解反応に対する触媒活性を評価した。そのために、まず、図7に示す反応装置を組み立てた。
電気炉3の中に石英ガラス製のタンマン管4を配置し、タンマン管4の中に内径8mmの石英ガラス管9を配置した。石英ガラス管9の中に、0.03gの試料5と、試料5を固定するためのシリカウール(図示せず)とを充填し、ガスボンベ1からアンモニアガス(Ar+NH3、NH3:5.17体積%、大陽日酸社製)を流した。ガス流量は、ガスフローコントローラ2を用いて、10mL/minとした。電気炉3としては、フルテック社製の「FT-01 VAC-30」を用い、ガスフローコントローラ2としては、堀場エステック社製の「MULTIFUNCTIONAL CONTROL UNIT CU-2140」を用いた。
その後、電気炉3を昇温速度10℃/minで各設定温度(200℃から50℃または100℃おきに700℃まで)まで加熱した。各設定温度に到達後、10分間温度を保持した後に、タンマン管4を通過して容器6に導入されたガスを、シリンジ7を用いて取り出した。取り出されなかったガスは、水8を通過した後、外部に放出された。
シリンジ7を用いて取り出したガスを、ガスクロマトグラフィ(GC)装置に打ち込み、以下の条件でGCを行ない、各設定温度におけるアンモニアから水素への転換率(以下、単に「転換率」ともいう)を求めた。
転換率は、アンモニアが完全に分解したときの水素発生量の定量値を100%としたときの、各設定温度での水素発生量の定量値から算出した。すなわち、転換率は、下記式から算出した。
転換率[%]=(各設定温度での水素発生量/アンモニアが完全に分解したときの水素発生量)×100
なお、石英ガラス管9の中に試料5を充填しない状態では、700℃まで水素の発生は認められなかった。
結果を下記表3に示す。未測定の場合は「-」を記載した。

・検出器:熱伝導度検出器(TCD)
・カラム:Porapak T 50/80(ジーエルサイエンス社製)
・カラムオーブン温度:120℃
・インジェクション温度:150℃
・TCD検出温度:120℃
・TCD CURRENT:120mA
上記表3に示すように、実施例1~実施例10の複合体は、比較例1の複合体(ハロイサイト粉末1のみ)と比べて、アンモニア分解反応に対して、高い触媒活性を示した。
触媒が同じ「Na-Ru」である実施例4と比較例2とを対比すると、担体としてハロイサイト粉末1を用いた実施例4は、担体X1を用いた比較例2よりも、触媒活性が優れていた。
同じ遷移金属触媒(Ru)を用いた実施例4~実施例6と実施例10とを対比すると、助触媒(Na、MgおよびK)を更に用いた実施例4~実施例6は、助触媒を用いなかった実施例10よりも、より触媒活性が優れていた。

Claims (7)
- ハロイサイトナノチューブを含むハロイサイトが集合してなる顆粒を含むハロイサイト粉末と、
前記ハロイサイト粉末に担持された遷移金属触媒と、を備える複合体。 - 前記顆粒が、前記ハロイサイトナノチューブのチューブ孔に由来する第1の細孔と、前記第1の細孔とは異なる第2の細孔とを有する、請求項1に記載の複合体。
- 前記遷移金属触媒が、鉄、ルテニウム、コバルト、ニッケルおよび銀からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を含む、請求項1または2に記載の複合体。
- 前記遷移金属触媒が含む遷移金属元素の含有量が、前記複合体の全量に対して、酸化物換算で、0.5モル%以上である、請求項1~3のいずれか1項に記載の複合体。
- 前記ハロイサイト粉末に担持されたアルカリ金属触媒およびアルカリ土類金属触媒からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の助触媒を更に備える、請求項1~4のいずれか1項に記載の複合体。
- 前記助触媒が、ナトリウム、マグネシウムおよびカリウムからなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素を含む、請求項5に記載の複合体。
- 前記助触媒が含むアルカリ金属元素およびアルカリ土類金属元素からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1種の元素の含有量が、前記複合体の全量に対して、酸化物換算で、0.1モル%以上である、請求項5または6に記載の複合体。
