Abstract

【課題】骨の骨強度を正確に診断することのできる骨強度診断装置及び骨強度診断方法を提供する。 【解決手段】縦方向用超音波送受波器及び横方向用超音波送受波器は、脛骨の骨表面に所定の角度から超音波を放射し、骨表面を脛骨の長軸方向及び長軸方向に直交する方向に伝搬する表面波をそれぞれ発生させると共に、表面波から軟組織側に漏洩する漏洩波をそれぞれ受波する。音速算出部は、超音波の経路長の差と伝搬時間の差に基づき、横方向及び縦方向の表面波音速を算出する。第1指標算出部は、横方向の表面波音速を用いて骨密度を評価する第1指標を算出する。第2指標算出部は、縦方向及び横方向の表面波音速を用いて、骨の配向性を評価する第2指標を算出する。第3指標算出部は、皮質骨厚みを測定し骨の強度を評価する第3指標を算出する。骨診断部は、第1指標、第2指標、第3指標のうち少なくとも1つを用いることで、骨強度を診断する。
