Abstract
The invention relates to a plastic glass which is suitable for drinks that are intended for human consumption. The base of said plastic glass is specially designed such that the glass can be used (i) to open the pressurised metal container and subsequently (ii) as a vessel in order to consume the drink. The glass protects the container against any dirt that could build up in the opening for the liquid, thereby preventing infections. The lid of the metal container comprises a special punched design which is shaped such as to enable the container to be opened using the plastic glass.
Description
This invention consists of a glass of plastic material, suitable for containing beverages for human consumption, which has a special design in its base in such a way that it allows the opening of the metal pressure container and subsequently serves as a container to consume the beverage.
ANTECEDENTES DE LA INVENCIÓNBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
At the moment the opening of metallic containers under pressure is carried out by means of a ring that, when thrown, tears the surface of the can and simultaneously an opening is produced where the drink comes out.
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA INVENCIÓNDESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The opening system of metal containers with beverages under pressure or without pressure consists of a plastic cup, made of material suitable for containing beverages for human consumption, which is superimposed on the can. This glass has the following characteristics at its base:
(a) Un tetraedro, cono o pirámide centrada del mismo material plástico del vaso.(a) A tetrahedron, cone or centered pyramid of the same plastic material of the vessel.
The entire base is undulated with concentric folds in such a way that they make it flexible to the perpendicular pressure in the center. These folds prevent breakage of the base of the vessel when a perpendicular pressure is exerted on it.
Posteriormente se saca el vaso que permanece superpuesto a la lata y se utiliza para beber el contenido de dicha lata.(c) The lower edge of this plastic cup will have sufficient mechanical rigidity to resist the vertical support of successive superimposed cans and thus allow the transport and storage of groups of cans. The plastic cup enters the can with a slight pressure and is prepared so that when a force is exerted perpendicular to the base and centered, the apex of the tetrahedron presses the drawing of controlled breakage of the can releasing the gas and tearing the surface to produce a predefined opening. Subsequently, the vessel that remains superimposed on the can is removed and used to drink the contents of said can.
This glass acts as a lid on the can, protecting it from dirt and, therefore, making the container more hygienic.
HOJA DE SUSTITUCIÓN (REGLA 26)
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LOS DIBUJOSSUBSTITUTE SHEET (RULE 26) DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
Figure 1 corresponds to the plastic cup that serves as a protective lid while allowing to open the metal container containing the pressurized beverage.
Figure 2 corresponds to the metal container containing the pressurized beverage. This package is of the same material that is currently used for the consumption of soft drinks and other types of beverages.
The drawing of the tin plant shows the shape of the die-cut pattern on the surface that allows the opening of the container by controlled breakage.
Figure 3 shows how both parts are assembled. It can be seen that the glass is embedded in the can with a slight enough pressure so that it does not come out. This pressure must be such that the can can be removed from the can and the contents can be consumed.
The glass will be made of biocompatible plastic material capable of containing drinks for human consumption and can be manufactured transparent or in any color.
Both the tetrahedron and the concentric folds of the base of the vessel form a single piece constructed in the plastic material described above.
These concentric folds allow a perpendicular pressure deformation in the center of the base without reaching the breakage of the material.
By exerting pressure on the center of the base, the apex of the tetrahedron inside the base also presses on the center of the can surface. This pressure causes the die-cut pattern of the surface to break freeing the internal gas. If the pressure continues the opening is produced by a break controlled by the die-cut drawing.
Once the opening is provoked, the plastic cup is removed and used to consume the contents of the can.
This opening system provides savings of aluminum in the manufacture of cans and greatly simplifies the design of these. The plastic cup also allows you to keep the temperature of the beverage in the can longer before opening it. The plastic wraps a large part of the can as an insulator against the high thermal conductivity of the metal container.
