Abstract

A cleaning cloth of the present invention includes a body which further includes a first cloth and a foam layer. The first cloth is liquid-absorbable and has a first face and an opposite second face. The first cloth has a plurality of meshes penetrating the first and the second faces. The foam layer is a closed-cell foam which is composed of thermoplastic elastomer and is liquid-nonabsorbable. The foam layer is disposed on the second face of the first cloth, and the foam layer partially protrudes into the meshes. The first face of the first cloth and parts of the foam layer protruding into the meshes are capable of cleaning objects. Thereby, the cleaning cloth of the present invention has promoted performance of cleaning and is more durable and environment-friendly.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates to a cleaning cloth, more specifically to a cleaning cloth which is able clean objects in liquid.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • Conventional cleaning tools which can be used to rub off filth under water flow are mainly water-absorbable, such as sponge. Sponges have a plurality of holes and apertures to absorb water and detergent. When sponges are squeezed or compressed, foams are formed. A user can use sponges with foams to scrub and clean objects. However, water-absorbable sponges have low friction coefficient, so that filth such as tea stains is difficult to be removed by rubbing with sponges.
  • To promote performance of cleaning, a spongy cleaning tool made of melamine is disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 7,234,189. Melamine sponge is water-nonabsorbable, so that water and detergent are difficult to be mated with it. Moreover, melamine sponge is consumed when using. More importantly, melamine is toxic. Although foamed melamine is not toxic, it is uncertain whether melamine sponges have remaining unfoamed melamine or not.
  • A cleaning cloth having a cleaning surface made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is disclosed in TWM413462. However, the TPE foamed cleaning surface is unable to mate with water and detergent well, so that performance of cleaning is reduced.
  • The present invention is, therefore, arisen to obviate or at least mitigate the above mentioned disadvantages.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main object of the present invention is to provide a cleaning cloth which has better performance of cleaning and is more durable.
  • To achieve the above and other objects, a cleaning cloth of the present invention includes a body which further includes a first cloth, a foam layer, and alternatively a second cloth.
  • The first cloth is liquid-absorbable and has a first face and an opposite second face. More preferably, the first cloth is a woven meshed cloth. The first cloth has a plurality of meshes penetrating the first and the second faces.
  • The foam layer is a closed-cell foam which is composed of thermoplastic elastomer, and the foam layer is liquid-nonabsorbable. The foam layer has a top face and a bottom face. The top face connects with the second face of the first cloth, and the foam layer partially protrudes into the meshes.
  • The second cloth is disposed on the bottom face of the foam layer and is composed of microfiber or non-woven fiber. The second cloth is engaged with the foam layer by an adhesive layer or by at least one stitch.
  • Thereby, when the second cloth is absent, the bottom face of the foam layer can be used to rub and clean objects directly. More preferably, the first cloth and parts of foam layer protruding into the meshes can be used to clean objects. The first cloth provides good performance of liquid-absorbing and foam forming of detergent, and the foam layer can rub out filth which is difficult to be removed. Besides, a plurality of seams provided by the meshes result a larger surface area to rub off the filth and to absorb or receive it. When the second cloth is available, other ways of cleaning may be provided, such as drying up.
  • The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment(s) in accordance with the present invention.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 4 for a first embodiment of the present invention. The cleaning cloth of the present embodiment includes a body 1 which further includes a first cloth 11 and a foam layer 12.
  • The first cloth 11 is made of liquid-absorbable material and has a first face and an opposite second face. More preferably, the first cloth 11 is a woven meshed cloth and has a plurality of meshes 111 penetrating the first face and the second face.
  • The foam layer 12 is composed of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) or thermoplastic rubber (TPR) which has good elasticity and softness to promote comfort while using. Also, TPE is recyclable and environment-friendly. The foam layer 12 is a closed-cell foam. Compared with liquid-absorbable open-cell foam, the closed-cell foam is liquid-nonabsorbable. Thus, the foam layer 12 has higher friction coefficient to provide better performance of rubbing and cleaning in water. The foam layer 12 has a top face and a bottom face. The top face is disposed on the second face of the first cloth by gluing, sewing, or hot pressing. The foam layer 12 partially protrudes or filled into the meshes 111 of the first cloth 11. In other words, the first cloth 11 provides better support and linkage to the foam layer 12, so the foam layer 12 won't be ruptured when rubbing and cleaning. In addition, at least one stitch penetrating the first cloth and the foam layer is alternatively provided to position the first cloth and the foam layer to prevent from separating.
  • Please refer to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the first cloth 11 and the parts of the foam layer 12 protruding into the meshes 111 form a cleaning surface with which a user can clean and rub objects under water flow. More specifically, the first cloth 11 is able to absorb water and detergent and to help form foam of detergent. On the other hand, the foam layer 12 is liquid-nonabsorbable, so it has high friction coefficient even under water flow to facilitate rubbing and cleaning. Moreover, the foam layer 12 is able to rub and clean objects even though surfaces of objects are slippery due to the foams generated by detergent. Besides, a plurality of seams formed by the meshes 111 result a rough surface which help rub off and receive filth to promote efficiency of cleaning. In addition, the bottom face of the foam layer 12 is able to be a cleaning surface alone too to provide various ways of using.
  • Referring to FIG. 5 to FIG. 8, a second cloth 13 is alternatively disposed on the bottom face of the foam layer 12. More preferably, the second cloth 13 can be composed of microfiber or non-woven fiber. Thereby, the second cloth 13 can be another cleaning surface to provide other ways of cleaning, such as drying up. The second cloth 13 and the foam layer 12 can be stuck together by an adhesive layer 14 therebetween, as shown in FIG. 7. Another substitution is that at least one stitch penetrating the first cloth 11, the foam layer 12, and the second cloth 13 is provided to position the foam layer 12 and the second cloth 13 to prevent from separating, as shown in FIG. 8.
  • Please refer to FIG. 9 and FIG. 9A, the first cloth 11 can be a check-shaped microfiber cloth including a plurality of microfiber units. The meshes 111 are located between the microfiber units to enable the foam layer 12 to protrude into the meshes 111. More specifically, the meshes and the microfiber units which are arranged spacedly increase receiving rooms and surface area for rubbing and cleaning, so that efficiency of cleaning is improved. Besides, the microfiber cloth with microfiber units which are arranged spacedly is easier to be dried compared with cloth which is wholly filled with microfiber. Thus, unpleasant odor or bacteria breeding due to humidity can be prevented.
  • In conclusion, the cleaning cloth of the present invention has advantages stated below.
  • 1. Good liquid absorbability and performance of forming foam are provided. Moreover, the cleaning surface has high friction coefficient.
  • 2. A plurality of seams form a rough surface to provide capability of rubbing off, absorbing, or receiving filth.
  • 3. TPE is employed as material because TPE is easy to be shaped or to be colored. Furthermore, TPE doesn't have to be vulcanized. Hence, cost is reduced, and processing is simplified.
  • 4. TPE is quietly soft and elastic to wrap the object which is to be cleaned.
  • 5. TPE is recyclable and environment-friendly.

Claims (9)

What is claimed is:
1. A cleaning cloth, including a body, the body further including:
a first cloth, having a first face and an opposite second face, the first cloth also having a plurality of meshes penetrating the first and the second faces, the first cloth being liquid-absorbable;
a foam layer, being a closed-cell foam which is composed of thermoplastic elastomer, the foam layer being liquid-nonabsorbable, the foam layer having a top face and an opposite bottom face, the top face connecting with the second face of the first cloth, the foam layer partially protruding into the meshes;
wherein the first face of the first cloth and parts of the foam layer which protrude into the meshes are able to clean objects.
2. The cleaning cloth of claim 1, wherein the first cloth is a woven meshed cloth.
3. The cleaning cloth of claim 1, wherein the first cloth is a microfiber cloth which is check-shaped, the first cloth includes a plurality of microfiber units, the meshes are located between the microfiber units.
4. The cleaning cloth of claim 1, wherein the body further includes a second cloth which is adhered to the bottom face of the foam layer.
5. The cleaning cloth of claim 4, wherein the second cloth is composed of microfiber.
6. The cleaning cloth of claim 4, wherein the second cloth is composed of non-woven fiber.
7. The cleaning cloth of claim 4, wherein the second cloth and the foam layer are stuck together by an adhesive layer.
8. The cleaning cloth of claim 4, further including at least one stitch penetrating the first cloth, the foam layer, and the second cloth, the stitch positioning the foam layer and the second cloth to prevent from separating.
9. The cleaning cloth of claim 1, further including at least one stitch penetrating the first cloth and the foam layer, the stitch positioning the first cloth and the foam layer to prevent from separating.
