POCKET TOILET SET.
applicati@ mea november 14, 1,922. "serial No. 600,926.
finds the need of in his daily requirements',I
or when he is away from .home or hisplace of abode, the same being arranged in a vhighly compact form and arranged in a case and the closure for the same in such manner that when the closure is. made shut the whole is encased in so compact a form pocket. ,l I attain these results4 by the article illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in whichv Y Fig. 1 is a plan view of the set, in place in the case with the closure of the same shown in open position, and eachof the articles in place in which they are secured by means ater to be described. Fig. 2 is a partial 3.0 cross section through the lower part of the case and is made to show themethod of making the di'erent articles fast to the case. Fig. 3 is a partial cross section throu h the case and is made to illustrate the met od of fastening the closure and the case in place when shut and in locked position. Fig. 4 is a partial cross section of the case showing how the closure is secured to the case by hinged means, and Fig. 5 is an end view of one of the containers for holding the toilet materials showing the closure for' controlling the emission of thetoilet material therefrom.
Similar letters and 'numerals refer to similar parts throughout the several'views.
1 is the case and 2 is the closure which is hinged to the case about'pin or rod 3 in the usual manner. On the opposite edge of the case from the hinged edge is a push button 4 which is secured to a spring attachment 5 which in vturn 'is held to the case by rivet 6. When the closure isshut the. spring member 5 is sprung into the dotted position as shown in Fig. 3 until the notch 7 passes over the lip 8 and engages the catch, in
which condition it remains until it is desired as to permit the whole to be carried inthe to open 'the closure, at which time a pressure isexerted upon the push button /lwhich disengages the spring latch and the closure is permitted to be opened. -8 is the razor which is placed in position within the case in a' compartment provided for that. purpose within the case, 9 is the styptic pencil which lis held in positionby spring clamp 9 which is-secured to the case, and-10 is a cake of shaving soap which is also in a compartment provided in the case forv maintaining the same imposition, 11 is the handle for the razor which is held in placement by spring clamp 113,12 is the shaving brush which is held in place-by spring clamp 12a, 13 is a container for the shaving powder which is held in placement by means `of spring clamp 21 w piece and` is so arranged and made into a shape -as to clamp tooth-brush 14,' tooth powder holder 15 and toilet water container -16 in position' within the case, -17 is a pair of tweezers which are held in position by means of spring clamp 17, 18 is a nail file which is held in position by means of 'spring clamp 18a and 19 is a comb which is held in -position by means of spring clamp 19, and 20 is a pair of scissors which are held in position bv -spring clamp'20. each ofthe spring clamps are secured to the case of the closure by rivets, by spot welding or by other suitable means to permit the finishing of the same on the exterior of the case in a -smoothuand workmanship like manner, and
the whole case is when finished of a very compact form and' easily accessible to the pocket of the wearer or user. In order that the case may be maintained in 'av sanitary -manner, at all times, and that no disease germs may be developed or cultures started,
ich is preferably made of one 1n the-various utensils, `or within the caseitself, I have provided a medicated Vmeans provided tobe maintained within a case and the fumes given oil'l from the medicated mattercontained will kill and otherwise prevent the development of germ lifey within the case, this is shown b a case or box 23, which may be placed within the case or secured to the closure, 24 would be the medicated material placed within the box 23, and 25 would be perforations to permitY the escapement of the medicated fumesvfrom the4 case or box 23 and 'during the period when the closure of the pocket toilet set was closed, these medicated fumes'would ermeate the whole Voit the inner portion of t e pocket toilet lset not.
and prevent the development or growth of life within the 'case or the contents of the Same.
Having thus described my invention I wish to make the Jfollowing claims therefor:
1. In a device of the class described, a case having a bottom and hinged cover, a transverse partition disposed adjacent one end and subdivided to provide a series of transverse end compartments, a pair of transversely alined spring clips arranged adjacent the cross partition, and a single spring clip extending longitudinally of the bottoni designed for separately retaining a plurality oi articles the longitudinally extending spring clip boing formed 0i' resiliciit material having well defined base portions flatly engaging the bottom of the case with Aintermediate 'portions of the strip bent upon themselves to forni double walled re- -silient. clip arms. and said double walled clip arms being outwardly curved intermediate their upper and loiver ends adapted for clipping and retaining curved articles.
2. ln a device of the class described, a case having a bottom and hinged rover, a'transy verse partition disposed adjacent one end and Laoaoev subdivided to provide a series of transverse end compartments, a pair of transversely aliiied spring clips arranged adjacent the cross partition, a single spring clip yextending longitudinally-0f the bottom designed for separately retaining a plurality of arti- I' cles, the longitudinally extending springv and having an opening therein adapted to i receive a struck out lug carried by the cover. In testimony that l claim the foregoing as my own I hereunto attach my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
