一般に自動車のフードシールゴムは、車体の開
口を閉じるフードと車体との間をシールして雨水
等が開口内に侵入するのを防止するためのもので
あり、また上記開口がエンジンルームの開口であ
る場合は、該エンジンルーム内の熱気が外部に逃
げるのを防止する機能をも有するものであり、こ
のようなフードシールゴムとしては、従来実開昭
55−31732号公報に開示されているようなもので
あつた。そして、このフードシールゴムは、フー
ドと車体との間をシールする目的の他、フードの
周縁部を外方に付勢してその振動を防ぐ目的をも
有する。また、このフードシールゴムはレイアウ
トの関係上、車体開口縁部の縦壁部に取付けられ
ることがある。この場合、その付勢力を強くする
ため、フードと当接するリツプ部の肉厚を厚くし
ていた。しかるにこのようなものでは、フードを
閉じた場合、フードシールゴムを車体に固定す
る、隣接するクリツプ間で、シールゴム全体が大
きく変形する、いわゆる波打現象が発生し、また
上記隣接するクリツプ間のフードシールゴムが車
体のフードシールゴム取付面を摩擦しながら上下
動するので、その部分の塗装がはげてしまうとい
う問題があつた。

リツプ部との当接時に該突起部がこのリツプ部の
下端部と当接してリツプ部の撓みを規制するよう
にすることにより、リツプ部は上記薄肉部により
容易に撓み、かつシールゴム全体の大きな撓みは
上記突起部で防止するようにでき、波打現象の発
生を防止できる自動車のフードシールゴムを提供
することを目的としている。

部5eが形成されている。また該薄肉部5eの下
側、即ち上記基部5aの上端部には上記開口3の
内方に向けて突起部5fが一体形成されている。
また上記基部5aの下端には、断面L字状の係止
部5cが一体形成されており、該係止部5cは上
記カウルグリル1aの下端に形成された係止部1
cと係止している。
