Abstract

PURPOSE:To bring a position of video recording start close to the reproduction start position after program search by providing the 2nd reproducing head arranged closely to a recording head on the tape running system in the reproducing state and detecting a program search signal recorded by the recording head. CONSTITUTION:In case of the video recording, the tape is moved from the stop state 2 into the reproducing state 1, and a video signal is recorded by a drum 5, and in this case, a program search signal is recorded by a program search recording head 3 for several seconds at the video recording start. In applying the program search for the recorded tape depending on the content, at first the fast feed/rewinding is applied at the halt state 2, the program search signal is detected by the 1st reproducing head 4a and the tape is stopped at that point of time. After the tape is brought into the reproducing state 1, the tape is rewound and the program search signal is detected by the 2nd reproducing head 4a, and the tape is fed forward to apply the conventional reproduction.
