図中、3は基板、4は1次シール部材、5は液
晶、6は2次シール部材、7は電極層を示す。

いに対向するように所定の空間を存して配設され
た一対の基板と、 該基板間に介在し該空間を所定の大きさに保持
する1次シール部材と、 該空間に封入された液晶と、 該一対の基板の側端部および該1次シール部材
の側端部を覆つてシールする2次シール部材とか
らなる液晶素子において、 1次シール部材は該基板の側端部より内側に後
退した位置に保持され、 該1次シール部材より外側にある該基板の互い
に対向する面は、コネクタ部のみに電極層が形成
され、該2次シール部材は、該1次シール部材よ
り外側にある該基板の互いに対向する面に接触し
て該面をシールする構成としたことを特徴とする
液晶素子。 (2) 電極層は、液晶と接する基板の対向面のみ
に形成されていることを特徴とする実用新案登録
