This occurs because the paper becomes acidic due to sulfuric acid bands in the sizing agent. This is no exception for office papers. Therefore, neutral paper is used in pressure-sensitive copying paper to avoid such damage. However, if the ink contains fatty acids, this reacts with calcium carbonate, a pigment in the neutral paper, resulting in poor transfer. This drawback can be overcome by removing fatty acids, but fatty acids are highly crystalline in solvents and result in discontinuous coatings. Using the adhesive properties of this fatty acid,
A transfer effect occurs, and if fatty acids are removed, sufficient discontinuity and tackiness cannot be obtained, and a product of satisfactory quality cannot be obtained.

A colored paint is formed by mixing a solvent that can dissolve this synthetic resin (e.g., one selected from methanol, ethanol, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, etc.), a colored pigment, an extender pigment, and a synthetic resin, This paint is applied onto the base and allowed to dry.

Outside this range, the transferability is poor, and there are cases where no transfer or too much transfer occurs. Regarding the molecular weight, it is preferable to have an average molecular weight of 500 to 4,000, and if it is outside this range, the transferability will be poor.

By cooling slowly, it becomes a gel-like solution, which can be formed on a colored coating layer by solvent coating. Alternatively, it can be formed by heating and melting an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, hot-melt coating the colored coating layer, and slowly cooling (cooling with warm air).
