Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an switchboard side from being loaded even if conferees increase in number, by performing processing for telephone conference at every terminal. CONSTITUTION:A voice signal is converted by a decoder into a digital signal, which is packeted by a packeting circuit and, after time data is inserted by a time inserting circuit, sent to a packet switching network, thereby performing simultaneous multiple-address transmission to other conferees. At the reception part of each terminal, packets from another conferee are received by a packet buffer 6 and arranged by a time-order arranging circuit 7 according to transmission time; and they are added by an adder 8 to generate a synthesized sound, which is reconverted by a decoder 9 into an analog signal to be supplied to a handset. Consequently, processing for conference is performed only in each terminal, so that even if conferees increase in number, that never increases a load on a switchboard.
