CONSTITUTION: A bacterium, e.g., H2760(FERM-P 5697) derived from Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC13032, etc., belonging to the genus Corynebacterium, capable of producing L-threonine, requiring oleic acid for its growth, is cultivated in a medium containing oleic acid. The bacterium is cultivated in the medium comprising sucrose, fructose, urea, peptone, ammonia, inorganic substance, etc. and a substance for a source of oleic acid, e.g., oleic acid, olive oil, beef tallow, etc. under aerobic conditions. L-Threonine is collected from the fermented solution by ion exchange resin method, methanol crystallization method, etc.
