Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the retention of intervals of spacers and the cooling of a rotary electric machine by forming a cooling passage of the spacers of through holes formed through between field coils and slots with bottoms formed through the through holes for communicating from one field coil to the other field coils between the field coils. CONSTITUTION:A cooling passage 10 formed at a spacer 9 (including axial spacer 9a and circumferential spacer 9b) is formed of through holes 10a formed through between field coils 3 and slots 10b, 10c formed through the holes 10a for communicating from one end to the other end and from one field coil 3 and to the other field coil 3 between the field coils 3. Coolant 7 is flowed from the slot 10b of the passage 10 through the slot 10c, from one end of the spacer 9 to the other end and from one field coil 3 to the other field coil 3 between the field coils.
