Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain steering stability when an automobile is running at high speed, by driving throttle valves, which are provided to reaction force controlling paths of a power steering apparatus, through a pressure difference of Venturi tube connected to a bypass side of a flow rate adjusting valve. CONSTITUTION:When the discharge pressure from a pump 33 is increased, the flow rate adjusting valve 11 moves a spool valve 29 to the right direction due to that pressure to bypass a working oil via a passage 15 to a bypass passage 34. The bypass passage 34 is formed with the Venturi tube, and the pressures of a high pressure section 36 and a low pressure section 37 of the Venturi tube are transmitted through pipes 82, 83 to the throttle valves 64, 65 provided in the reaction force controlling paths so that the throttle valves 64, 65 are enabled to be driven by the pressure difference produced in said Venturi sections. The heaviness of the steering handle can be varied by controlling the pressures in reaction force chambers 47, 48 by the throttle valves 64, 65.
