Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a magnetic alloy for a magnetic head maintaining the high magnetic flux and having superior wear resistance by adding a specified percentage of Ga or In to an alloy consisting of a specified percentage each of Ni, Nb, Mo, W, Cr, Ta, V and Fe.
CONSTITUTION: To a basic composition consisting of, by wt., 70W85% Ni, 1W3% Nb, 0.1W4% alone or in combination of Mo, W, Cr, Ta and V, and the balance Fe is added 0.001W1% Ga and/or In, 0.001W1% Se and/or Te, or 0.001W1% one or ≥2 kinds among Ru, Rh, Re, Os, Ir and Pd.
