Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a quick repetitive pulse output with a low level of power consumption, by connecting a constant voltage source and a constant current source which are complementary to each other to a step recovery diode (SRD). CONSTITUTION:A constant voltage source 1 and a constant current source 3 are complementary to each other. When the source 3 is working with the signal level of an input terminal 9, the source 1 has no working. In this case, the charging current iC flows in the forward direction of an SRD5 for the source 3. Then the current iC is cut off when the signal level of the terminal 9 varies. Thus the backward constant voltage is applied to the SRD5 from the source 1. Accordingly the discharging current iD flows to the SRD5. As the internal resistance of the source 1 is small, the discharging time constant formed with the capacity of the SRD5 and the internal resistance of the source 1 is extremely reduced. As a result, the discharging of the SRD5 is carried out instantaneously via the source 1. After this, an extremely quick leading output is delivered. This leading edge is differentiated by a differentiating circuit 7 to obtain a desired output pulse.
