Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a clear copy by automatically regulating the aperture value of an optical image-formation system by setting an exposure reference value to the fog concentration part of the characteristic curve of a copying machine and then by determining proper exposure from the brightness of an original surface to be copied. CONSTITUTION:Original 1 has the original surface scanned by optical image-formation system L through slit 20 of certain width to the position of slit 21 shown by the broken lines. Information on original 1 is reflected by reflex mirror 2 after passing through image-forming lens system L and optical axis J and further reflected by reflex mirror 12 by way of image-forming lens 3, aperture 5 and image-forming lens 4 to form its image on image-formation surface 13. The photometry, in which the proper exposure is determined and the aperture is adjusted, is performed with luminous flux K. Luminous flux K from original 1 enters photoelectric element 7 via aperture opening 6 and converted into an electric signal and controller 11 performs control processing to output an aperture adjustment signal, with which aperture opening-closing member 8 is rotated to vary the opening area of aperture 5, so that the exposure will be varied.
