Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the maintenance control easy, by performing the self-diagnosis as to the operating condition of an engine by use of a check program stored in the microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:The air fuel ratio control unit is equipped with the rotational frequency detection sensor 22, the absorbing negative pressure sensor 19, and the O2 sensor 16, and the control is performed in accordance with an output of each sensor. The control circuit 3 consists of a microcomputer, an ROM, an RAM, etc., and in addition to the regular air fuel ratio control, it executes a self-diagnosis in the idle operating condition after the engine has been started or the warming up running has been completed. Resulting from the self-diagnosis, in case when some failure has been detected, the display element 30 indicating the abnormal part is turned on. The display can be performed by means of the code No. or the panel.
