Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to make a good copy by detecting image density by using a part of a focusing type transmission body for detecting image deisity and exercising control over the original for the light exposure or bias voltage according to said detection signal. CONSTITUTION:A supporting stand 1 moves along with the rotation of a photosensitive drum 4 and the light irradiates the original from a light source 2. The reflected light thereof passes through a focusing type transmission body 3 and forms an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive drum 4, whereby copying is accomplished. A part of optical fiber tube 3b out of multiple image-forming optical fiber tubes 3a forming the body 3 is used for detecting image density, and a photodetecting element 14 is disposed in the position opposing to its end part. The detection signal from the photodetector 14 is used for controlling a light source 2, a charger 5 and a developing device 6, whereby the image density is adjusted.
