Abstract

PURPOSE: To simultaneously improve the coloring sensitivity and coloring density of a photosensitive composition based on the acidic salt of leucoaminotriarylmethane and a strong acid, a photooxidizing agent, a polycyclic quinone and a hydrogen donor by adding a specified amount of polyethylene glycol to the composition.
CONSTITUTION: Polyethylene glycol as an assistant coupler is added to a photosensitive composition based on the acidic salt of oxidizable leucoaminotriarylmethane and a strong acid, hexaarylbiimidazole acting as a photooxidizing agent to the leucoaminotriarylmethane, a polycyclic quinone such as pyrenequinone absorbing 400W550nm light mainly and a hydrogen donor such as triethanolamine triacetate capable of forming a redox couple with the quinone. The amount of the polyethylene glycol added is 6W60pts.wt. to 1pt.wt. leucoaminotriarylmethane.
