Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain capsule toner with superior press.-fixability, electric chargeability, impact resistance and a long life by using a covering layer, as a shell for covering a core substance (a press.-fixable component), obtained from a specified aqueous suspension. CONSTITUTION:Two or more kinds of monomers such as (meth)acrylic acid ester, styrene, vinyl acetate and maleic acid ester are emulsion-copolymerized to form an aqueous suspension whose film forming temp. ranges from 15 deg.C to the softening point of a core substance containing a polyolefin type resin such as polyethylene oxide or an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer as a press.-fixable component. The core substance of about 0.5-100mu diameter is mixed into the suspension, dispersed, and drived with a spray dryer or the like to form an about 0.05-3mu thick film of the copolymer suspension on the subface, thus giving capsule toner.
