Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a stabilized α-cyano-phenoxybenzyl alcohol ester insecticide which is stable even at a low concentration, by adding a stabilizer selected from a specific phosphoric acid ester, a monocarboxylic acid ester, etc.
CONSTITUTION: An ester of formula I [X is H, Cl, Br, etc., Y is II or III (R1 is methyl, etc.; R2 is H or methyl; R3 is Cl, Br, etc.; R4 is isopropyl, etc.)], e.g. (±) α-cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl 2,2,3,3-tetramethylcyclopropanecarboxylate, is added with 0.3W2.0%, based on the total solid components, of one or more compounds selected from (a) an alkyl ester of phosphoric acid, (b) a monocarboxylic acid ester or its salt, (c) polyethylene glycol, (d) a nonionic surface active agent, and (e) an alkali metal salt of an weak inorganic acid, and the mixture is supported on a mineral carrier to afford a stable insecticide.
