Abstract

PURPOSE: To determine reference line for halftone photography by applying a straight picture line parallel or rectangular to the reference line of layout assignment paper to the non-image portion of a transmission type original or the transmission type original.
CONSTITUTION: The reference line for halftone photography is determined by fixing layout assignment paper 2 to the original stand 1 of a reflection type projecting device then forming the projected image of the layout assignment paper 2 on a focus glass 12, moving the lens 11 and projecting plate 10 to adjust the projected images so that the size of the projected image and the size of the image of the transmission type original 18 placed on the focus glass 12 coincide, then fixing the transmission type original 18 to the focus glass 12 while the projected image and the image of the transmission type original are held registered, thence applying a straight line image parallel or rectangular to the reference line of the layout assignment paper to the non-image portion of the transmission type original 18 or to the auxiliary piece 19 fixed to the transmission type original. A scribing bar 14 and a scribing pen are provided to this reference line determining device.
