Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to form a magnetic layer where dispersiveness of magnetic powder and adhesiveness of the base are good and durability is improved, by using an aromatic polyamide system resin and a specific resin as the base material and the binder of the magnetic layer respectively.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic layer where a polyvinyl butyral resin and a low- molecular weight multifunctional isocyanate compound of 1 to 30 weight % for the total amount of the resin above are a binder is provided on the base which consists of an aromatic polyamide system resin and has an approximately 3μ thickness desirably. Further, a low-molecule plasticizer of 15 weight % or less for the total amount of binder components may be arranged. As a result, a mechanical strength can be held sufficiently and a recording and reproducing time can be extended even if the total thickness of the magnetic recording medium is made small.
