Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive and compact ink supplying mechanism by a method wherein two pump chambers are provided for one pump, on being for supplying ink to an ink jet head and the other being for collecting ink. CONSTITUTION:When an eccentric cam 14 rotates and a stroke bar 15 moves in an arrow A direction against the pushing force of a pressure spring 20, a plunger 16 connected with this stroke bar 15 through a shaft 17 moves toward a pump chamber 24, while in the pump chamber 24 having a smaller capacity the ink in the pump chamber 24 is discharged into an ink reservoir 11 through a ball valve 26. On the contrary, when the stroke bar 15 is pushed by a pressure spring 20 and moves in an arrow B direction, the plunger 16 moves toward an ink chamber 21, the ink in the ink chamber 21 is discharged into an accumulator 2 through a ball value 23, while the ink collected through a filter 10 enters the pump chamber 24 through the ball value 25.
