Abstract
PURPOSE: To hole the mechanical strength of the metallic material at low temperatures, and to improve its toughness, by winding plural layers of the sheet of body- centered cubic metal around the core rod.
CONSTITUTION: The core rod 2 like as the drill rod steel wire, etc., is brazed to the end of the metallic sheet 1 of the low carbon rimmed steel, etc. Both ends of this core rod 2 are set to the pin vice 3 and the drill chuck 4, and the drill chuck 4 is rotated at low speed in order to curl up the metallic sheet 1; hereby, the multilayer metallic material 5 with low temperature toughness is obtained with the laminated composite construction comprising the plural layers wound around the core rod 2. Additionally, if necessary, this multilayer metallic material 5 is inserted into the cylinder 6 of aluminum, etc., and the swaging work is applied to this assembly to from the multilayer metallic material 7. According to this laminated composite construction, the metallic material, possessing superior toughness in low temperatures and super low temperatures can be obtained with the light weight.
