Abstract

PURPOSE: To dry the ink in an extreme short period by a system wherein the ink surface and the printed front and back surfaces are simultaneously cooled by ventilating from four directions when the printed surface is passing through the ultraviolet ray irradiation surface.
CONSTITUTION: The air admitted from an air inlet 5 of a drier 1 is discharged from the slit nozzles 15, 15' and 15" of the ducts 4, 4' and 4" respectively, which enters into the drier 1 to the forwarding printing surface 22 from three directions including the forwarding direction and the right and the left directions perpendicular to the forwarding direction, cooling the ultraviolet lamps 10, 10' and the illuminator located in the drier 1, and exhausting from the exhaust unit 6 and the exhaust cylinder 8. On the other hand, the air sucked from the air inlet 5' of the cabinet 2 is discharged from the slit nozzles 18W21 for cooling the heat sensitive adhesive pasted on the back side of the printing surface 22 and exhausting from the outlets 17, 17'. This allows to cool simultaneously the ink surface and the heat sensitive adhesive pasted on the back side of the ink surface.
