Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the supporting strength of the stator adopting a gap winding construction against the circumferential torque by means of spacers having a comb- shaped tooth section separately interposed in sequence between coil sides on the stator winding with the tooth section fixed on a support member.
CONSTITUTION: Spacers 40 having a comb-shaped tooth section 41 are interposed in sequency between coil sides on the stator winding supported in a gap on the inner periphery of the stator core 1 and a bind 5 is wound across the cuts 42 of the tooth sections from one spacer to the other. The height of the tooth sections is such that the projected portions are left in the circumferential direction after the winding of the bind 5. These projected portions are inserted into spline grooves 71 of a support member 7 provided on the inner periphery of the stator core 1 to form a stator. With such an arrangement, it is possible to carry the circumferential torque working on the coil sides positively thereby improving the supporting performance agains torque.
