Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform safe and sure ignition, by opening a main fuel valve during the forward motion and backward motion of a spark plug and giving two ignition times per one igniting operation.
CONSTITUTION: The spark plug 4 is moved back and forth by an air cylinder 7. The opening of the main fuel valve is started at the half of the forward motion of the plug to inject fuel from a main burner 1. An atmosphere pattern appropriate for the ignition is made by the mixing of the fuel with air. Therefore, when the main fuel is ignited, a flame supervisor 14 operates. At that time, if the spark plug 4 is moving forward, its position is fixed for several seconds. After the main burner 1 is surely ignited, the plug 4 is moved back. Even if the flame supervisor 14 does not perform catching and no ignition is effected at the end of the forward motion of the spark 4, the plug can perform ignition in an appropriate position during its backward motion. If the ignition is impossible, preparations for re-ignition are made by an error signal.
