Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the switching time by providing a dicision circuit and a controlled lead angle command circuit and switching the control lead angle of armature current of synchronous machine continuously to counter torque direction thereby switching the direction of torque without bringing the current to zero.
CONSTITUTION: When running a synchronous machine 5 with constant speed through thyristors 2, 4, the signal from the speed control circuit 9 inverts from positive to negative upon the decrease of the speed command which is discriminated and the code discriminaging circuit 19 to cause the control lead angle command circuit 23 to transit the load side control lead angle continously from motor region to regenerating region through the pulse phase shifter 24. While since the current control circuit 11 is functioning, the signal from the source side pulse phase shifter 12 varies in accordance with the variation of load side controlled lead angle thus enters into regenerative running. Consequenty when switching the direction of torque, it can transit continuously without bringing the current to zero resulting in the shortening of switching time.
