Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to measure a sublingual temperature instantaneously and precisely by a method wherein a probe in which a waveguide used to guide infrared rays is installed is covered with a thin cover body, the probe is inserted into a part under a tongue and the quantity of the infrared rays is detected from the inner wall of the cover body. SOLUTION: As a blank for a wind tunnel 4, a synthetic resin material having a shape holding property, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate or the like, is used. In the wind tunnel 4, a circumferential protrusion-shaped part which is formed at its based part is fitted to, mounted on and attached to, a circumferential groove-shaped part which is formed at the base part of a probe 2, and the part is inserted into a part under a tongue so as to be brought into close contact with the part so as to wrap the wind tunnel 4 under the tongue. Owing to the shape holding property of the wind tunnel 4, a slight gap is formed between it and the probe 2, and infrared rays can be introduced directly into a waveguide 3 from the inner wall of wind tunnel 4 which is brought into close contact with the part under the tongue. Thereby, a body temperature can be measured instantaneously and precisely, and it can be measured stably without the difference among individuals.

As a sublingual thermometer, there is a thermometer utilizing the thermal expansion of a fluid such as alcohol or mercury. However, the sublingual temperature is susceptible to the outside air temperature. When the mouth is opened, the temperature of the inner surface of the mouth temporarily drops due to the heat of vaporization of saliva, so that it usually takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete the temperature measurement.

On the other hand, an eardrum thermometer using an infrared detector can measure a body temperature in about 2 seconds. However, since the probe must be surely pointed at the eardrum, the orientation of the probe depends on the individual shape of the ear. May be different, and the infrared ray from the eardrum may decrease due to the attachment of the ear fold or the like. In such a case, a stable measurement value may not be obtained.

[0008] Heat loss due to heat of vaporization is achieved by inserting the cover body under the tongue so that the cover body has a shape-retaining property so as to keep a slight gap between the probe and the probe, and the cover body is tightly inserted under the tongue. Sublingual temperature can be measured more accurately from the inner wall of the cover body without being further affected by the above.

The wind tunnel 4 can be easily mounted on the outer periphery by fitting the circumferential projection 41 formed at the base thereof into the circumferential groove 21 formed at the base of the probe 2.
This is inserted under the tongue so as to sandwich it, and the wind tunnel 4 is inserted under the tongue.
If it is tightly wrapped around the body, accurate measurement of body temperature can be instantaneously (about 4 seconds).

In a state where the wind tunnel 4 is closely contacted under the tongue, a slight gap is formed between the wind tunnel 4 and the probe 2 due to its shape preserving property, so that the temperature of the probe 2 itself and the temperature in the oral cavity are reduced. Since infrared rays can be directly introduced into the waveguide 3 from the inner wall of the wind tunnel 4 which is in close contact with the lower part of the tongue without being affected, it is possible to obtain a stable measurement value without variation between individuals. it can.

The wind tunnel 4 may be made of a thinner and more flexible film material, such as a vinyl film or a polyethylene film (see FIG. 4). In this case, the tip 2 of the probe 2 is held in a state where the holding body 42 of the wind tunnel 4 is
The wind tunnel 4 is slightly tensioned by 2 and the tip 22 may be inserted and pinched so as to be pressed directly under the tongue, and the infrared light under the tongue is introduced directly into the waveguide from the inner wall of the tensioned wind tunnel 4. And stable measurement values can be obtained.
