2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a sanitary tampon, a rod-shaped body absorbs menstrual blood and opens in a parachute-like manner starting from the connecting portion of the cord and swells to close the vaginal cavity more tightly and release the absorbent fiber. Shaped so that it is not left in the vaginal cavity, that is,
A rectangular, water-absorbing, first fibrous web piece is laminated with a narrower water-absorbing fibrous intervening piece on the upper surface of the intervening piece, and the first fibrous web is intersected at a right angle to form a cross shape. To form a rectangular and water-absorbing second fibrous web piece,
Of the fiber web piece (surface serving as the outer surface of the tampon) is laminated with a water-absorbent coating piece to form a fiber laminate piece, and a pulling cord is connected to the center of the fiber laminate piece to extend outward. It is known that the fiber laminated piece is squeezed and pressed into a rod-shaped body with the connecting portion of the cord as the base point (Japanese Patent Publication No. Sho 5).

On the other hand, a tampon is formed so as to absorb menstrual blood quickly and swell in a cylindrical shape to close the vaginal cavity more tightly, that is, a water-absorbent fiber fleece is wrapped around a cylindrical body. There is also known a sanitary tampon in which a cord for drawing is applied and the cylindrical body is squeezed so that the fiber density of the tip portion is lower than the fiber density of other portions (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-16175).

In the tampon disclosed in Japanese Examined Patent Publication No. 57-822, the intervening piece is made of a non-woven fabric, gauze, or the like and is narrower than the first and second fibrous web pieces. However, the publication does not explain at all why the intervening piece is used. However, since the intervening piece is made thinner using the material and is thinner than the first and second fibrous web pieces, the intervening piece is used to strengthen the connecting portion of the pulling cord to the fiber laminated piece. It is obvious to those skilled in the art that it is not recognized that an effective fiber density difference occurs in the rod-shaped body when the fiber laminated piece is pressed into the rod-shaped body. In addition, the strength of the withdrawal cord with respect to the fiber laminated piece is sufficient, and it cannot be said that there is no concern.

In the tampon disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 61-16175, the intended purpose can be achieved for the time being, but only a special squeezing operation for lowering the fiber density at the front and rear ends is required. In addition, since the fiber density of the outer surface along the length direction is high and stiff, the overall swelling due to absorption of menstrual blood is relatively slow, and thus the vaginal cavity cannot be sufficiently closed so that menstrual blood does not flow out.

According to the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problems, a liquid-permeable fiber nonwoven fabric piece is coated on the entire surface of both sides of a liquid-absorbent fiber integrated sheet piece having a substantially rectangular contour. To form a liquid-absorbent fiber laminate, and to extend outward by connecting a pulling cord to the center of the fiber laminate,
It is assumed that a sanitary tampon is obtained by squeezing the fiber laminated body in the radial direction by squeezing the fiber laminated body with the connecting portion of the cord as a base point.

As shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, the fiber laminate 1
Is a bar (1a) that is radially shrunk so that the upper surfaces of the first and second fiber accumulated sheet pieces 3 and 4 are located inside by using a binding portion of the cord 2 as a base point with a molding die (not shown). It is pressed and molded. As can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 4,
In the process of squeezing and molding the fibrous laminated body 1 into the rod-shaped body 1a, the second fibrous integrated sheet piece 4 and the first portion 11 of the first fibrous integrated sheet piece 3 on which the second fibrous integrated sheet piece 4 overlaps with the binding portion of the cord 2 as a starting point. The second portion 12 of the first fiber-collection sheet piece 3 which is located in the radial direction from both sides and does not overlap the second fiber-collection sheet piece 4 is interposed between the first portions 11 and the first portion 11
Will cover at least a portion of the outer surface of the. In such a compression-molded state, the rod-shaped body 1a has a fiber density of both outer portions along the length direction of the rod-shaped body 1a where the second portion 12 is located in the longitudinal direction of the rod-shaped body 1a where the first portion 11 is located. The fiber density is lower than that of the central portion along the line, that is, the compression density of the fiber is low and soft.

The permeation rate or the capillary action rate of the liquid decreases if the fiber density of the rod-shaped body 1a is too high or too low. The fiber density of the central part along the length direction of the rod-shaped body 1a where the first part 11 is located is substantially equal to or slightly higher than the fiber density of the tampon which is generally used conventionally, but the second part The fiber densities of both outer side portions along the length direction of the rod-shaped body 1a where 12 is located are lower than the fiber density of the center portion along the length direction of the rod-shaped body 1a where the first portion 11 is located. According to a comparative experiment between the case where the fiber density of the rod-shaped body 1a is made substantially the same throughout and the case where the fiber density is distributed as in the embodiment of the present invention, the latter case is compared with the former case. Since the absorption and swelling speed of the liquid is high, it can be said that the fiber densities of the both outer portions where the second portion 12 is located are appropriate. Of course, it is not preferable to make the overall fiber density of the rod-shaped body 1a substantially equal to the fiber densities of the both outer portions where the second portion 12 is located. In that case, it is necessary to use a constant amount of fibers in the rod-shaped body 1a in order to give a constant menstrual blood absorption capacity, which would increase the diameter of the rod-shaped body 1a. The diameter of the rod-shaped body 1a is one of the biggest problems in the sanitary tampon.

Although not shown, in order to improve the absorbability of menstrual blood, a space is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the rod 1a in the outer peripheral direction,
In addition, a menstrual blood guide groove extending in the lengthwise direction may be formed by squeezing, and in such a case, it is preferable to avoid the both outer portions where the second portion 12 is located. This is because the compressed guide groove increases the fiber density in that portion.

By pulling the pull-out cord when pulling out the tampon, the overlapping portions of the first and second fiber accumulated sheet pieces and the fibrous nonwoven fabric pieces located on the upper and lower surfaces thereof are tightened to form a binding portion of the pull-out cord. Since it becomes strong, the rod-shaped body portion (rear end portion) where the binding portion of the cord is located is not damaged when the cord is pulled out, and the cord is not pulled out from the rod-shaped body. In that part, the first
And both edges of the fibrous nonwoven fabric sheet in which the second fibrous integrated sheet piece overlaps each other, the fibrous nonwoven fabric piece overlaps the lower surface (outer surface) of the first fibrous integrated sheet piece, and the upper surface (inner surface) of the second fibrous integrated sheet piece overlaps each other. This is because the parts overlap and form a five-layered structure.

1. A liquid-absorbent fiber laminate comprising a liquid-absorbent fiber integrated sheet piece having a substantially quadrangular outline, which is covered with a liquid-permeable fiber nonwoven fabric piece to form a liquid-absorbent fiber laminate. In a sanitary tampon in which a pull-out cord is connected to the center of the cord and extends outward, and the fiber laminate is radially squeezed from the cord connecting portion as a base point to be pressed into a rod-shaped body, The liquid fiber laminate has a first fiber integrated sheet piece having a first side edge and a second side edge facing the first side edge and a width dimension of the first fiber integrated sheet piece, the outline being formed in a substantially quadrangular shape. A second side edge having a first side edge and a second side edge opposite to the first side edge, the first side edge being narrower than the first side and having a substantially rectangular outline.
The first and second side edges of the first fiber accumulation sheet piece are substantially equal to the first and second side edges of the second fiber accumulation sheet piece, respectively. The second fibrous integrated sheet piece is superposed on the upper surface of the first fibrous integrated sheet piece so as to face each other at intervals, and the fibrous nonwoven fabric piece has a central region located on the lower surface of the first fibrous integrated sheet piece. At the same time, both side regions of the fibrous nonwoven fabric piece are folded back inside each other on the upper surfaces of the first and second fibrous integrated sheet pieces, and the edges of the both side regions are overlapped with each other at the center of the upper surface of the second fibrous integrated sheet piece. Thus, the upper and lower surfaces of the first and second fiber integrated sheet pieces are completely covered, and the cord penetrates the fiber laminated body including the overlapping portions of the edges of both sides of the fiber nonwoven fabric piece. Are bound together The fiber laminate has a binding portion of the cord as a base point,
The first and second fibrous integrated sheet pieces are squeezed and formed in the rod-shaped body by squeezing in the radial direction so that the upper surfaces are located inside the rod-shaped body. The fiber densities of both outer side portions along the length direction of the rod-shaped body where both side regions of the first fiber-collected sheet piece in which the second fiber-collected sheet piece does not overlap the first fiber-collected sheet piece are located The tampon is characterized in that it has a lower fiber density than other parts of the body.
