Description
The present invention relates to a method for applying a pressure-sensitive adhesive for application to a ventilation filter made of nonwoven fabric which is used by being attached to a ventilation opening of a house or an exhaust opening or an intake opening of a ventilation fan.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an adhesive for sticking has been applied to a part of one surface (back surface) of a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter used by sticking to a ventilation opening or the like of a house. A transfer method is generally used as a method of applying the pressure-sensitive adhesive to the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter. That is, after a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is formed at a predetermined site on the surface of the release material, a three-layer structure of release material / pressure-sensitive adhesive layer / non-woven air-permeable filter is formed by a method of bonding a nonwoven airflow filter to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, It is used by peeling off the release material when attaching it to a ventilation port or the like.
Since the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer obtained by such a method is non-permeable, the filtration performance of the nonwoven fabric-permeable filter at the portion where the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is provided is reduced. Conventionally, it is natural that filtration performance is reduced, and rather, products utilizing the reduction of filtration performance have been developed. For example, in Patent Literature 1, dirt adheres to a portion of a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter in which an adhesive layer is not provided, and the portion turns black, but on the other hand, an adhesive layer is provided. It is described that dirt hardly adheres to a portion of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter, so that the portion floats up white, indicating the time of replacement of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter (Patent Document 1, paragraph 0003). However, when the filtration performance of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter provided with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is reduced, the life of the filter is shortened.
An object of the present invention is to provide a method for applying an adhesive to all or a part of one surface of a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter, and to provide a method in which the filtration performance of a portion to which the adhesive is applied is hardly diminished.
The present invention has solved the above-described problems by noting that the surface of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter is not flat, and that there are places where constituent fibers exist and places where the constituent fibers do not exist, and a specific application method is employed. . That is, the present invention provides a step of preparing a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter in which constituent fibers are accumulated and a gap is formed between the constituent fibers, and supplying a flowing adhesive to a slit of a die head of a die coating apparatus. Applying the pressure-sensitive adhesive only to the surface of the constituent fibers present on one side of the slit by performing the step of transporting the non-woven fabric ventilation filter while contacting one side of the non-woven air-permeable filter with substantially no pressure at the outlet of the slit. And a method for applying a pressure-sensitive adhesive to a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter.
The nonwoven fabric ventilation filter used in the present invention is one in which constituent fibers are accumulated and a gap is formed between the constituent fibers. As the air passes through the gap, dust and the like are collected in the gap. As the constituent fibers, conventionally known short fibers and the like are used. For example, polyester short fibers, rayon short fibers, polyvinyl alcohol short fibers, polyolefin short fibers and the like are used alone or in combination. In particular, it is preferable to use mainly polyester short fibers as the constituent fibers. This is because polyester staple fibers have excellent weather resistance and are not easily discolored. The intersections between the constituent fibers are also bonded with a conventionally known adhesive, for example, with an acrylic adhesive, a rubber adhesive, a polyolefin adhesive, or the like. It is preferable that the adhesive contains a flame retardant. Since a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter is also used for an intake port of a range hood or the like, a flame retardant one can prevent a fire danger. In addition, specifically, it is preferable to use an acrylic adhesive as an adhesive, and to include a phosphorus-based flame retardant in the acrylic adhesive.
Basis weight of the nonwoven fabric venting filter is of the order of 20g / m 2 ~300g / m 2 . Also, the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter is relatively coarse.
The die coating apparatus used in the present invention is also known, and includes a die head provided with a slit, a tank for storing an adhesive, and a pipe connecting the die head and the tank. Generally, the pressure-sensitive adhesive is heated and softened or melted in a tank to make it flowable. Then, a pressure-sensitive adhesive in a flowing state is supplied to the slit of the die head through a tube by using a pump or by applying pressure. The rotation speed of the pump and the pressure at the time of pressurization are preferably adjusted to such an extent that the adhesive in the flowing state is not violently discharged from the exit of the slit. The adhesive supplied to the slit reaches the exit of the slit. The width of the slit is preferably about 0.1 to 0.5 mm. If the width of the slit is too wide, the adhesive that has reached the exit of the slit will flow down. On the other hand, if the width of the slit is too narrow, it becomes difficult to apply the pressure-sensitive adhesive reaching the exit of the slit to the constituent fibers of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter.
As the pressure-sensitive adhesive used in the present invention, a conventionally known pressure-sensitive adhesive can be used, but it is particularly preferable to use a hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive. The hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive is softened or melted into a fluid state when heated, and exhibits a pressure-sensitive adhesive function when cooled and solidified. The viscosity of the hot melt adhesive in a fluidized state is arbitrary, but is preferably 800 mPa · s or more. If the viscosity is too low, the adhesive that has reached the exit of the slit will flow down. The hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesive generally comprises a polyolefin-based resin and an elastomer such as an acrylic rubber, and is added with a tackifier, a softener, and the like as necessary. By adjusting the amount of each of these components, it is possible to obtain an appropriate viscosity when it is in a fluid state, and to obtain an appropriate sticking force. Further, when the nonwoven fabric breathable filter is replaced, the adhesive can be made less likely to remain on the adherend such as a ventilation port.
The feature of the present invention is that, as shown in FIG. 1, one side (back side) of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter 3 is brought into contact with the exit of the slit 2 of the die head 1 in a substantially non-pressurized state (see FIG. 1). (Conveyed in the direction of the arrow). The adhesive 4 in a flowing state is supplied into the slit 2, and reaches the outlet of the slit 2. At this time, when one side of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter 3 is in contact with the exit of the slit 2 in a non-pressurized state, the adhesive reaching the exit of the slit 2 is only the constituent fibers present on one surface of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter 2. And not to the gaps between the constituent fibers. That is, the adhesive is applied only to the constituent fibers existing on one side in contact with the adhesive reaching the outlet of the slit 2. When pressed against the outlet of the slit 2 in a substantially pressurized state, the constituent fibers present inside the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter are exposed on one side (back side), and the constituent fibers are also provided with an adhesive. When the pressure is released, an adhesive is applied to the gap, which is not preferable. If the conveying speed of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter 2 is too slow, the amount of the adhesive that has reached the outlet of the slit 2 may increase and may flow down into the gap between the constituent fibers. Therefore, the transport speed of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter 2 needs to be adjusted appropriately.
The pressure-sensitive adhesive may be applied to one entire surface of the nonwoven fabric ventilation filter, or may be applied to a part thereof. When applied to the entire surface, the amount of the adhesive applied is about 3 to 30 g / m 2 . Also, when the coating is applied to a part, the coating amount of this ratio may be used. FIG. 2 is a photomicrograph of a nonwoven fabric-permeable air-permeable filter obtained by the method according to the present invention, in which a whitish mass is the pressure-sensitive adhesive. Such a nonwoven fabric ventilation filter with an adhesive is used by being attached to a ventilation opening of a house, an intake opening of a range hood, an intake opening of an air conditioner, an exhaust opening or an intake opening of various ventilation fans.
According to the method of the present invention, the pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied only to the surface of the constituent fibers existing on one surface (back surface) of the nonwoven fabric-made ventilation filter, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive is not applied to the gap between the constituent fibers. Therefore, even if the pressure-sensitive adhesive is applied to the non-woven air-permeable filter, the air permeability is hardly reduced, and when the non-woven air-permeable filter is attached to a ventilation port or the like and used, the filtering performance is prolonged.
