本発明は、はがき,封書等郵便物の宛名部に印字された印字内容をCCDカメラで撮像し、当該撮像デ−タ−を付属する画像処理PCで認識して、宛名無しの不良品を摘出したり、郵便番号別に区分集積したり、あるいは作業番号の連続性をチェックするに用いられる郵便物の小型検査区分装置に関する。
例えば、DM,銀行の残高通知書,カ−ド会社利用明細書などは、はがきまたは封書で一度に何十万通と作成される。このような大量郵便物の作成業務では通称シ−ケンス番号と呼ばれる番号が宛名印字部に付記され工程管理されている。即ち、予め取り決められた通し番号を付記し、その連続性をチェックしながら作成作業が進行する。また、郵便局へ差し出す場合は、郵便番号やカスタマ−バ−コ−ドに基づいて、番号別に区分けしながら所定通数毎に把束される。
