Description
Claims (7)
- マトリクス状に画素が配置された画素部及びバックライトを備える液晶パネルと、
前記バックライトの調光設定を示す調光設定データを生成する調光制御回路と、
前記液晶パネルに内蔵され、外光を検出する外光センサと、
前記液晶パネルに内蔵されて前記外光センサと隣接して配置され、前記外光センサと製造ばらつきが同等であり、前記外光センサの出力特性のばらつきを補正するため前記調光設定によるバックライト光を検出するバックライト光センサと、
前記バックライト光センサへの入射光強度と前記バックライト光センサの出力強度の関係を示す基準値テーブルと、
前記バックライト光センサが出力した出力強度と前記調光設定データに対応する前記基準値テーブルの基準出力値とを比較して、前記バックライト光センサの出力強度の前記基準値からのずれを検出する補正値検出回路と、
前記補正値に基づいて前記外光センサの出力を補正する補正回路と、
を有するセンサ出力制御回路と、
前記補正回路からの出力に応じて前記調光制御回路により生成される調光制御信号に基づいて前記バックライト光を制御するバックライト駆動回路と、を備えることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記外光センサはバックライト遮光手段によってバックライト光から遮光され、前記バックライト光センサは外光遮光手段によって外光から遮光されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶パネルは、表示面側の上面ガラス基板とバックライト面側の下面ガラス基板を備え、
前記バックライト遮光手段と外光遮光手段は、前記上面ガラス基板と下面ガラス基板との間に形成することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶パネルは、表示面側の上面ガラス基板とバックライト面側の下面ガラス基板を備え、
前記バックライト遮光手段は前記下面ガラス基板の外側に形成し、前記外光遮光手段は前記上面ガラス基板の外側に形成することを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記下面ガラス基板に、前記外光センサとバックライト光センサとを薄膜トランジスタで形成することを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記上面ガラス基板に、前記外光センサとバックライト光センサとを薄膜トランジスタで形成することを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記外光センサとバックライト光センサは、光の透過率を同一とした半透過遮光手段により遮光されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
