当該開閉カバーを開放した場合に、前記感光体ドラムの回転方向に沿って前記感光体ドラムが露出しない閉状態となるように前記開閉カバーが開放する回転方向と同じ方向に沿って閉動作するシャッター部材と、
第一の姿勢の時に前記シャッター部材を閉状態とし、第二の姿勢の時に前記シャッター部材を開状態とする押込み部材とを有する画像形成装置であって、
前記押込み部材は直線往復移動可能であり、前記第一の姿勢となるように直線伸張方向に付勢されており、
前記開閉カバーの前記揺動軸とは反対側の端部には当接部が設けられ、当該当接部は、前記開閉カバーの閉じ位置から開放方向への所定の角度範囲に亘って前記押込み部材に当接し、前記所定の角度範囲を越えると前記押込み部材と離間するよう構成されており、
前記当接部と前記押込み部材とを当接させながら前記開閉カバーを閉じることにより、前記押込み部材を前記第二の姿勢へ直線圧縮方向に移動させ、前記シャッター部材を開状態とする画像形成装置。
