Abstract
Description
1)a)190未満のエポキシ当量、及びb)ポリフェノールのポリグリシジルエーテルの総重量に基づいて、1重量%未満の減少した単一加水分解樹脂含有量を有するポリフェノールのポリグリシジルエーテルを含有するエポキシ成分と、
2)ポリエチレンテトラアミン混合物を含む硬化剤成分と、を有する硬化性樹脂系を提供する。
本発明では、エポキシ成分は、190未満のエポキシ当量を有する少なくとも40重量%のポリフェノールのポリグリシジルエーテルを含有する。本発明の樹脂系において、エポキシ成分は、エポキシ成分の総重量に基づいて、約40重量%を超える、好ましくは50重量%を超える、より好ましくは60重量%を超える、そのようなポリフェノール樹脂のポリグリシジルエーテルを含有する。
本発明の樹脂系の硬化剤成分は、ポリエチレンテトラアミン混合物であり得る。「ポリエチレンテトラアミン混合物」は、ポリエチレンポリアミン化合物の混合物を意味し、その少なくとも95重量%が、混合物の総重量に基づいて、正確に4個のアミン窒素原子を有する。本発明の目的のために、正確に4個のアミン窒素原子を有するそれらのポリエチレンポリアミン化合物は、「ポリエチレンテトラアミン」化合物と称される。

硬化剤成分及びエポキシ成分は、エポキシ成分によって提供されるアミン水素当量あたり少なくとも0.8エポキシ当量が、2つの成分の反応混合物に提供されるような量で、組み合わせられる。好ましい量は、アミン水素当量あたり少なくとも0.9エポキシ当量であり、さらにより好ましい量は、アミン水素当量あたり少なくとも1.0エポキシ当量である。エポキシ成分は、反応混合物に提供されるアミン水素当量あたり最大10エポキシ当量等、過剰に提供され得るが、好ましくは2以下、より好ましくは1.25以下、さらにより好ましくは1.10以下のエポキシ当量がアミン水素当量あたり提供される。硬化剤が小過剰(例えば、アミン水素当量あたり0.0〜0.80エポキシ当量)で存在する実施形態は、しばしば、特に短い離型時間を呈し、一方で、高ガラス転移温度を有する硬化した樹脂を生産する。概して、エポキシ成分と硬化剤成分との重量比は、100:11〜100:20であるが、好ましくは100:12〜100:19である。
本発明の硬化性エポキシ樹脂系は、強化繊維の存在下でこの系を硬化することによって、繊維強化複合材料を作製するために特に有用である。これらの複合材料は、概して、エポキシ成分を硬化剤成分と混合して、本発明の混合物または樹脂系を形成し、繊維を混合物で湿潤させ、その後、触媒及び強化繊維の存在下で混合物を硬化させることによって、作製される。
粘度:
ASTM D445の標準試験方法を使用して、25℃での種々の試料の粘度を測定した。単位はmPa.sである。
動的DSCを用いて、樹脂系Tg値を判定した。10℃/分の加熱ランプにおいて、試料を25〜220℃に加熱し、25℃で3分間等温に保ち、その後、10℃〜220℃の加熱ランプで再び加熱し、220℃で3分間等温に保ち、10℃〜25℃のランプで冷却した。Tg開始及びTg中間点を、第2の加熱セグメントから判定する。
CS1は、約250のエポキシ当量を有するポリフェノールのジグリシジルエーテル、及び1重量%未満の単一加水分解樹脂(VORAFORCE 5310(商標)としてThe Dow Chemical Companyから市販されている)を用いる。樹脂成分は、25℃で約7000〜10500mPa.sの粘度を有する。樹脂は、100対14.7の重量比で硬化剤成分と混合する。
IS1は、エポキシ成分として、約190のエポキシ当量を有するポリフェノールのジグリシジルエーテル、及び0.5重量%未満の単一加水分解樹脂(VORAFORCE(商標)ER 104としてThe Dow Chemical Companyから市販されている)を用いる。エポキシ樹脂成分は、25℃で約4000〜6000mPa.sの粘度を有する。樹脂は、100対14.7の重量比で硬化剤成分と混合する。
試料を、それぞれ250mPa.s及び500mPa.sに達するまでに要する時間について測定した。この目的で、比較試料(55℃で約110mPa.sの初期粘度を有する)と、55℃で約90mPa.sの初期粘度を有する発明試料との両方を、平行板(直径25mm、間隙1mm)を装備した予熱した剪断レオメータ(MCR301,Anton Paar)中に置き、それらの粘度を、10s−1の剪断速度を用いて及び55℃の等温条件下で測定した。

- 硬化性樹脂系であって、
1)最大約190のエポキシ当量を有するポリフェノールのポリグリシジルエーテルを有するエポキシ成分と、
2)ポリエチレンテトラアミン混合物を含む硬化剤成分と、を含み、
前記エポキシ成分が、25℃で9000mPa.s未満の粘度を有する、前記硬化性樹脂系。 - ポリフェノールの前記ポリグリシジルエーテルが、ポリフェノールの前記ポリグリシジルエーテルの総重量に基づいて、1重量%以下の単一加水分解樹脂含有量を含む、請求項1に記載の前記硬化性樹脂系。
- 前記エポキシ成分と前記硬化剤成分との間の重量比が、100:11〜100:20である、請求項1に記載の前記硬化性樹脂系。

- 内部離型剤をさらに含む、請求項1〜5に記載の前記硬化性樹脂系。
- 請求項1〜6に記載の前記樹脂系から作製される、硬化した繊維強化複合材料。
