本発明は、電子機器筐体に使用する多極性イヤホンプラグ接続装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
従来、電子機器に使用されるイヤホンプラグ接続装置は、2極性のものがほとんどであり、イヤホンジャックは、イヤホンプラグが挿入されるため、筐体の開口部から露出しているので、防水を施す必要があった。このような防水構造としては、例えば特許第2507173号公報に記載されている。これは、図11に示すように、筐体101に形成された凹部102内に、イヤホンプラグ103を着脱するためのイヤホンジャック104のプラグ挿入部105を挿入し、このプラグ挿入部105の外側からナット部材106を螺合させて、プラグ挿入部105を筐体101に固定し、凹部102内にシールキャップ107を圧入して、このシールキャップ107をナット部材106に水密状態で被せたものである。このような防水構造により、従来の2極性のイヤホンプラグ接続装置でも、筐体の開口部からの水や埃の浸入を防止することができる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上記従来のような2極性のイヤホンプラグ接続装置では、防水機能が得られるものの、接続オプションの多様化に伴って開発された多極性のイヤホンプラグ接続装置では、十分な防水機能が得られないという問題があった。多極性のイヤホンプラグは、2極性のイヤホンプラグよりも大型化するので、防水構造を取るとデザイン性が悪化したり、イヤホンジャック挿入穴の大型化によるシール部の圧縮しろの減少により防水機能の低下する。圧縮しろを大きくとると、それだけイヤホンプラグを抜く時の反発力も大きくしなければならず、使用時に抜けやすくなるという信頼性の問題が生じる。また、多極性のイヤホンジャックのコンタクト部は、イヤホンジャックの上端部に存在するために、筐体の開口部とイヤホンジャックとの間に隙間が生じ、筐体の開口部でガイドすることが容易でなく、振動やイヤホンプラグの曲げによりイヤホンジャックと回路基板との接合部に亀裂等が生じて、信頼性を低下させるという問題もあった。

上記課題を解決するため、本発明の多極性イヤホンプラグ接続装置は、イヤホンプラグ本体部から突出するプラグ端子の基部外周に円筒端子を備えた多極性のイヤホンプラグと、筐体の開口部に取り付けられて前記イヤホンプラグが接続されるイヤホンジャックとを備えた多極性イヤホンプラグ接続装置において、前記イヤホンプラグ本体部の前記円筒端子の周囲に環状凸部を備え、前記筐体の前記開口部に前記イヤホンプラグ本体部の環状凸部の内側に対向する環状凸部を備えたことを特徴とするものである。この構成により、デザイン性を考慮しつつ、安定した防水性が得られ、信頼性の高い多極性イヤホンプラグ接続装置を実現することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態について図面を参照して説明する。
(実施の形態1)
図1(a)は本発明の実施の形態1における多極性イヤホンプラグ接続装置の構成を示し、図1(b)はイヤホンプラグの下方から見た部分拡大図である。図2(a)はイヤホンプラグをイヤホンジャックに挿着した状態の断面図、図2(b)は図2(a)のA部拡大断面図である。図1および図2において、筐体1の上面には、イヤホンジャック2のプラグ挿入部3を露出させるための開口部4が形成されている。イヤホンジャック2は、その4箇所の足部2aが、筐体1内部のプリント基板5上に半田付けにより固定されている。開口部4の周縁には、上向きに環状凸部6が形成されている。一方、イヤホンプラグ7は、樹脂、ゴム、弾性樹脂等の絶縁性材料から構成された本体部8と、本体部8の端面8aの中心から突出するモノラルやステレオ用のプラグ端子9と、プラグ端子9の周囲に本体部8により絶縁されて同心的に設けられた円筒端子10とを備えている。また、本体部8の端面8aには、その外周面から下向きに環状凸部11が形成されている。開口部4の環状凸部6とイヤホンプラグ7の環状凸部11とは、高さが同じであるが、イヤホンプラグ7の環状凸部11の直径は、開口部4の環状凸部6の直径よりも大きく、両者の間には隙間Gが設けられている。さらに、筐体1の上面には、イヤホンプラグ7を装着しない場合に、外部の水や埃が開口部4から筐体1内部に浸入するのを防ぐためのイヤホンジャックカバー12が固定されている。イヤホンジャックカバー12の材質としてはゴム、エラストマー等があり、特にシリコンゴムは移行性、柔軟性の面で好ましい。
