Abstract
956,131. Chaff cutters. MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR A.G. April 10, 1963 [April 18, 1962], No. 14421/63. Heading A4C. In a chaff cutter a knife 7 is mounted on a rotary disc wheel 1 or the like by means of a bracket 2 secured to the disc wheel I and an angle section plate 3 adjustably secured to the bracket 2 to provide an adjustment for the plate 3 in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the disc wheel 1. The plate 3 is adjustably secured by screws 5 engaged in slots 4 in the bracket 2 and the borders of the slots may have lateral teeth which engage with teeth on the plate 3. The knife 7 may be adjustably secured by screws 8 engaging slots in one arm 6 of the plate 3. Behind the knife 7 in the direction of rotation is mounted on the disc wheel 1 an angle section ejector 11, 12 for chopped material, one arm 12 of the ejector lying in the plane of the disc 1 and being tangential thereto.
