Abstract
904,858. Haymaking machines. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. May 27, 1959 [June 20, 1958], No. 27262/61. Divided out of 898,686. Class 6(3). A haymaking machine comprises a framebeam 61 and a supporting beam 75 parallel to it for supporting a row of rake-wheels 90-92, the supporting beam being mounted in bearings 72, 73, 74 on the frame-beam so that it can be turned about is longitudinal axis to lift the rake-wheels, both the frame beam and the supporting beam having auxiliary portions 69, 79 which can be inserted when an additional rake-wheel 93 is to be included in the row. The auxiliary beams have flanges 70, 71 whereby they can be bolted into alignment with their respective beams. The device is mounted on three wheels 62, 63, 64, the third wheel 64 being carried on an arch 94 extending over the rake-wheels. A seat 95 is carried by the arch and a lever 104 accessible to an operator on the seat enables the beam 75 to be rotated about its axis, for transport, or adjustment of rake-wheel pressure on the ground. Each rake-wheel is adjustable about a vertical pivot and all may be swung into the dotted position for tedding.
