Abstract
Hydroaromatic amines, with the exception of o-aminodicyclohexyl, of the formula H2N.R, where R denotes a cyclohexyl radical substituted with at least one alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, or cycloalkyl radical, or a 1.2.3.4-tetrahydronaphthalene or a decahydronaphthalene radical, are condensed with 1-amino-2-chloro-, bromo-, or sulpho-, 4-chloro- or bromo-anthraquinones having a chlorine or bromine atom in 5-, 6-, 7- or 8-position. Where chlorine or bromine is in 2-position, it is then replaced by reaction with alkali sulphite. The condensation is carried out in the usual manner, and a dispersing agent and an inert gas may be employed. The products dye wool, silk, and nylon blue shades. In examples, the following hydroaromatic amines are condensed with anthraquinone derivatives variously substituted within the limits indicated: (1) cyclohexylamines-the 2- or 4-methyl, 2,4-, 3,4- or 3,5-dimethyl, 2-ethyl, 3,4- or 3,5-diethyl, 2,3,5-trimethyl, 2-, 3- or 4-amyl, 4-butyl, 4-benzyl, and 2,3,4,5-tetramethyl; (2) p-aminodicyclohexyl; (3) decahydro-1- or 2-naphthylamine; (4) 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1- or 2-naphthylamine; (5) a phenylcyclohexylamine.
