463,581. Bandages &c. VEYSEY, H. B. Jan. 4, 1936, No. 392. Convention date, Jan. 10, 1935. [Class 81 (ii)] A surgical bandage comprises an elongated dressing cover, a band for the head or other part of the body and connecting means between the band and cover, the connecting means at one or both ends of the cover including a flexible loop secured to the cover at each end of its end edge, and a loop member at the end of the band engaging the cover loop and freely slidable therein. Fig. 10 shows a dressing cover for a jaw wound, a loop 2 being provided at one end, and a metal eye 1<1> at the other. Fig. 13 shows a cover for chin wound, loops 2, 3 being provided at each end. Covers for mastoid, cheek, nose, eye and ear wounds are also shown. Each cover consists of inner and outer walls of white cotton material forming a pocket having an open end into which a removable thin rubber sheet is inserted. The covers are shaped by pleats 9-17. The head &c. band comprises an elastic strap 29 formed with a loop 30, the free end of which is secured to a slidable buckle 30x and which carries a hook 32 adapted to engage with the eye 1<1> or loop 3 of the cover. To the other end of the strap 29 is attached a hook 34 adapted to engage with a ring 33 secured to the strap, and thereby to form a loop member for engagement with the cover loop 2. The strap 29 may be kept in place on the head by a supplementary endless elastic band passing thereover.
