Abstract

445,441. Air compressors. SZEKELY, G., 3, Tummelplatz, Graz, Austria. Jan. 25, 1935, No. 2564. Convention date, Feb. 26, 1934. [Class 8 (i)] An electromagnetically driven air compressor has one face of the compression chamber 17 formed of a flexible diaphragm 7. This diaphragm is drawn downwards against the spring by the electromagnets 2, and the compression stroke is performed by the energy stored in the spring 13. This spring has a non - linear characteristic so as to obtain synchronous conditions under varying air pressures. In the form shown, the spring is formed from a conical rubber block. In a modification a conical helical spring is used.
