Abstract

391,414. Air vessels for hydraulic apparatus. McFARLAND, F., 1012, South Muldrow Street, Mexico, Missouri, U.S.A. Feb. 3, 1933, No. 3356. [Class 102 (i).] An air vessel for hydraulic apparatus comprises two chambers of which the main chamber C contains a plunger D which passes up into the liquid seal x of the air space and at its base 2b has a gasket adapted to seat and close the opening to the pump delivery pipe. A reduced portion 2a enters the connecting passage 2 and acts as a dashpot. The plunger D acts also as a valve controlling the lateral passage 3 to the second air chamber E. The charging air pressure in the chamber E is less than that in the chamber C.
