346,500. Circular saws. BRAMLEY ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., Wakefield Road, Hunslet, FITTON, W. H., Southfield, Town End, Bramley, both in Leeds, and ELLIOTT, G., Carr Lane, Thorner, near Leeds. Feb. 3, 1930, No. 3551. [Classes 124 and 145 (ii).] A circular saw has a small longitudinal motion of its spindle in addition to its revolution and "bumping action. Spindle 48, rotated by gearing from the saw spindle 47, carries a cam 63 to give the saw spindle a longitudinal reciprocation. Eccentrics 81, 82, run in recesses formed in links 85, 86 pivoted to the machine saddle 40. Hence the members 43, 44, supporting the saw receive a transverse reciprocation in grooves in the saddle. The saw 51 thus receives its bumping motion. The upper portion 25 of the work table 7 can be traversed by a screwed handle 29. and the work is fed forward by the weight 20. The saddle 40 is raised vertically by the handle 39.
