Abstract
324,113. Reliance Rubberware, Ltd., (Miller, T. W.). Oct. 19, 1928. Strap fastenings for articles such as bathing caps and other head gear, foot wear, belts, or for general use, comprise transverse abutments 4 near one strap end 1 adapted to be passed through a slot 3 in the other end 2, the ends being held together by the engagement of one of the abutments with the edge of the slot. Fig. 1 shows the application to chin straps of rubber formed integral with a bathing cap 6. Straps may be separately formed and secured to the article. Fig. 2 shows a separate strap 9 formed with abutments 4 (or alternatively with a slot 3) near one end and an attachment slot 5 at the other. The free end is passed through a slot 7 in the cap 6 or other article and then through the slot 5, as in Fig. 4. After fastening as in Fig. 1, the free ends of the straps may be held down by sliders 10, Fig. 5, or may be tucked in through perforations provided in the straps. A modification is described in which the attachment end of the separate strap has two narrowed necks, one registering with slot 7 and the other slot 5, to increase the security of attachment.
