Catamenial appliances. - A sanitary napkin consists of a mat of finely divided wood fibre 10 enclosed in an absorptive wrapper consisting of a plurality of superimposed sheets of wood fibre 11 or one or more layers of thin unsized paper. The usual gauze wrapper with attaching tabs is folded over the composite strip. Deodorants or other modifying agents may be incorporated.
