Abstract
302,784. Trotter, C. M. E., (Representative of Trotter, G. H.). Nov. 16, 1927. Charge indicators; cells.-A storage battery having an opaque casing is provided with a window behind which is a chamber in communication with the electrolyte and containing specific gravity balls. As shown in Fig. 2 the chamber may be formed in one with the window 2 which is held in grooves in the cell 1 and cover 3. A projection 7 on the cover bears on the rear wall of the chamber. Fig. 4 shows a modification in which the chamber 4 is formed separately from the window and is supported on the casing 1 and battery plates 11. The window may be formed in the battery container in the manner described in Specification 285,293. According to the Provisional Specification the chamber for the specific gravity balls may be formed by providing the battery container with an integral moulded pocket situated behind the window. If the container is of celluloid the chamber may be formed by cementing the walls to the container, the latter forming the front wall of the chamber.
